Rootian is never a new to us as Langkawians. The restaurant has been around for more than 20 years. It was firstly founded in Pandak Mayah (which we sometimes refer it as old Kuah town as new spots have been developed) and the owner Ah Wah decided to shift to the new place in Dayang Walk a years ago. Ah Wah is a friendly boss and always offers good gesture to his customers.

Whilst it seems to be rather underrated as compared to other restaurants on the internet and social media, we personally feel that it is a hidden gem that worth a visit when you are here in Langkawi. So why not give it a try! The locals usually patronized Rootian and it tends to get packed as early as 6.00pm. 

Rootian may not be very budget-friendly for some of us. To be frank, it just can’t beat Wonderland Food Store for the price point but definitely cheaper than the others. It has an excellent selection of dishes, including non halal Chinese food. So there must be something you would love to try it out. We assure your tummy is filled with fresh and delicious seafood to your heart content.

This humble restaurant is located in the town of Kuah. Just opposite Bella Vista Hotel and definitely a good place for you to enjoy your dinner after an exhausting day at Kuah Town, or maybe the Water Kingdom theme park.

You might be seeing this restaurant has received numerous positive reviews on the internet. Always been selected as the top choice as the Best Seafood Restaurant in Langkawi. The restaurant starts getting crowded during dinner hour, so it is always good to arrive early. Some people even start queuing as early as 5.30pm.

The reason is just so simple: CHEAP AND GOOD SEAFOOD! Just go ahead and taste the mouthwatering seafood dishes at Wonderland Food Store. They are very transparent in terms of pricing. The dishes are reasonably priced and all based on sizes or weight of your dishes/ seafood choice.

If you have a little more budget to spend on the dinner, head towards Langkawi Fish Farm Restaurant. The price is on higher side, but it is definitely worth it! Not only that they have finger-licking seafood, it offers you the romantic dining experience with your loved one that is truly unforgettable. They do allow diners to choose live seafood to ensure optimum freshness and food satisfactory.

Located in a quiet part of Kuah, near to St Regis Hotel. This hidden gem is decorated with pirates and fishermen concept while the al fresco sea deck offers a nice view of the Andaman Sea. The view of decking into the ocean is unbeatable. It is a picturesque place where you can simply take unlimited selfies/ wefies and yet still look good in every photos.

Our recommendation is:
– Signature Fish Head Curry
– Batter Fried Squid coated with special made sauce
– Crispy Fried Chicken

Conveniently located along the coast line of Pantai Cenang, Orchid Ria Seafood Restaurant serves the freshest and delectable offerings of seafood for diners in Pantai Cenang. Unlike Fish Farm Restaurant, the restaurant nothing fancy to look at from the outside. It is airy enough even when accommodating 250 pax in the premise. Just that you may have to compromise with its ambiance.

Despite the extreme crowd in the evening, the staff are always there to serve with utmost friendliness and efficiency. You may have to wait for at least 15 mins turn around in table time to taste these extraordinarily good seafood dishes. Thus it is good to have a company chilling with some beers while waiting for food to be served. They offers wide range of selection and offerings for you to choose your ingredients.

– Tiger Prawn with Baked Cheese on Top
– Butter Tiger Prawn
– Steamed Seabass

With narrow frontage, the restaurant may not appealing from the Pantai Cenang road or you may not even notice it if without huge bright signage. Qiang Shi Fu Seafood Restaurant may not as popular if compared with the above-mentioned. Started as a small Chinese zi-char restaurant in Kuah town in initial stage and slowly growing its fame over the years. Its consistency in preserving their food taste and quality has won hearts.  

The restaurant itself is often packed with local and tourists. The locals will confidently recommend this restaurant to the tourists without much hesitation. The boss and staff are friendly and professional during food ordering. Apart from as-good-as-ever taste, they offer reasonably well food portion as well which helps them to gain large base of returning customers. The downside is that they may not be as attentive due to manpower shortage.

– Steamed Fish topped with Friend Preserved Raddish
– Clam Soup
